a quick glimpse into my glamourous travel life:
i am cranky after a two hour wedding hair trial and feel like someone sledgehammered my legs. i wish it would have been my head.
i feel like a special kid after anna brought me a treat, knowing that i had porridge for lunch.
just returned from a wicked fast but wicked awesome trip to northern ireland where we got to see amazing scenery, hear stories of crazy church politics and festering feuds, and eat cheap food. woot.
it's rainy.
off to the salt house pub to see off my buddies keeley and luke. lucky for them i'm going to stalk them, first in london, then in australia.
this is potentially the creepiest blog i've written so far.
hope all's well in your part of the earth.

i am currently feeling introspective and melancholic. very emo of me, i know. my flatmate and her boyfriend returned to their respective countries (france and spain) on monday and i miss them! i stayed strong at their farewell until i said bye to my friends and turned the corner to my house, where i cried like a little baby all the way up the stairs.
we were special roomates because, as marie liked to tell people "not only do we share ze room, we share ze bed!" this had more to do with our lack of linens and the fact that the couple in the room preceeding us left us all their queen size bedding, than us actually choosing to have such close sleeping quarters. the past 2 weeks, guzman (marie's boyfriend) was also part of the sleepovers as he would have been homeless otherwise... the things you do whilst backpacking!
our last nights with them included a rousing game of rock band, and breakdancing lessons in the living room. who knew marie was secretly a b-girl?? my arms still actually hurt from doing the worm...
anyway, to ease the pain of their departure i went and booked myself a trip to france, to take place in october.
on a completely different note, my friend keeley and i had an adventure weekend. we wanted to find somewhere besides galway to go for a coffee or a pint, so we hopped on a bus to oranmore and ended up running down the main street of this small town before landing at a thatched roof pub where we proceeded to waste away the rainy afternoon.
for manitobans, this experience would be something like a steinbacher going to new bothwell for coffee. kind of random and funny.
the next day of our adventure, nine people from all different countries( most of whom happen to be flatmates of our friend, asha) boarded a bus that took us out to the country where we proceeded to go horseback riding! so fun. my horse, named mrs. doolin, and i had an instant connection. so we rode through fields and forests before returning to the farm and drinking hot whiskys with ray the cowboy.
we knew we were in the country when we were trying to find the best way to the bus stop and ray said " well, i can give you a lift or it's about 3 fields away walking". some ambitious member of our group decided fields were the way to go and after some massive poo-dodging we found our stop and caught the bus home after our big day at the farm.
so that's galway at the moment. or non galway if you will.
now i'm going home to sleep. or maybe eat, then sleep.
i hope this finds you well and wonderful.
all my love
becki
