howdy!
...so it's been awhile since i last posted. sorry, i have been very busy having adventures!!
life in galway seems rather charmed at the moment as i live in a little flat with lovely folks, have a job i enjoy in a pink sparkly salon, and have made all kinds of nifty friends!
the city has a good vibe, or "good craic" if you're irish... when the sun is shining, the pedestrian streets fill with people and all manner of buskers. anything goes! from balloon makers and digeridoo players to fiddles, guitars, and puppets, it's an artist's paradise. my friend hanna borrowed me her violin and i have been finding all manner of people to jam with...
i stay occupied with this as well as french/spanish/english lessons with my roomate and our friend from spain. these lessons generally end up with us making fun of one another's ineptitude at speaking the other languages. marie was trying to describe the way english people spoke, and said finally "its like everyone has ze potatoes in zere mouth!", and proceeded to imitate what this sounded like. so funny.
i am trying to be homey here in my flat... doing things like making unbaked cookies (due to a conspicuous lack of oven), growing plants (which incidentally fell off the balcony where i kept them to the concrete one storey below- oops), and making a lot of tea. although i seem to be a bit inept at the tea making as i never have milk, honey, and tea all at the same time, so my poor friends have gotten some lacking combinations.
so life in ireland goes... what is everone else up to? i want to assure you that even though i massively suck at replying to emails, i really really appreciate getting them- so feel free!
i love you all, every one!!
bisous from galway,
becki
